Mayor Bill Shoemaker placed Logan on paid administrative leave a day after the chief was arrested at his Castleton Road residence Dec. 5. The arrest came after police received a report of a possible drunk driver who damaged a mailbox and caused other minor damage.

Logan, who became chief in July 2008, was arrested at his Florence residence on Castleton Road, Florence police said. The police report states Logan refused to take a sobriety test.
